A traditional Scandinavian sloyd knife built for the woodworker who wants a true all-rounder.

Sloyd knives are designed for precise, controlled cuts in wood — shaping, carving, and refining projects with accuracy and confidence. This one is crafted from reclaimed high carbon sawmill steel, hollow ground with a shallow secondary bevel and hardened to ~61HRC for an edge that holds up to serious carving sessions. The turned silver maple handle features a palm swell for a natural, comfortable grip during extended use.

This knife sits in the sweet spot between a delicate finishing knife and a heavy material remover — versatile enough for most carving tasks without being optimized for just one.

Please note: This knife has a small cosmetic scratch on one bevel, visible in photo 5. It does not affect performance and is reflected in the discounted price.

Materials

Our blades are made with high carbon steel. This steel is known for its edge retention and durability. However, unlike stainless steel these blades will naturally oxidize over time and gain a beautiful patina.

Our knives are designed with everyday use in mind and come with an Everyday Structural Guarantee. If for some reason our knives fail to perform as they should, we will replace or repair them at no cost to you.
